|Santa Monica College Looks Toward the Skies|
September 3, 2010 -- The Santa Monica College John Drescher Planetarium will present two special feature shows Friday evenings Sept. 17 and 24.
The feature shows are:
* "Autumn Deep Sky Wonders" (Sept. 17), which examines the fall season's new cast of astronomical celebrities that graces the evening sky.
* "TILT! Equinoxes & Solstices Explained" (Sept. 24), which, using the Digistar projector, takes a look at equinoxes and solstices and dispels some myths about them.
The feature shows are at 8 p.m., and are preceded by "The Night Sky Show" at 7 p.m., which re-creates the night sky and provides the latest information on space exploration.
The John Drescher Planetarium, which features the Digistar projection system, is located on the second floor of Drescher Hall, 1900 Pico Blvd.
