Moving Forward: City to Hold Workshop to Consider Priorities for Future Transportation Needs On Saturday, October 6, 2007, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the City of Santa Monica will hold a citywide community workshop to integrate previous community input with new ideas and take a more in-depth look into how transportation will serve the community in the future. Community members will have an opportunity to both learn and express opinions about how the City should prioritize multiple transportation modes, such as walking, biking, automobiles and transit on City streets and other rights of way. The workshop continues the City of Santa Monica’s Planning & Community Development Department’s series of community workshops towards developing new Land Use and Circulation Elements (LUCE) to guide the city for the next 20 years. The workshop will feature Jeffrey Tumlin of Nelson/Nygaard, a San Francisco based transportation firm, and will include many opportunities for participants to provide feedback. Lunch will be served. The workshop will take place at John Adams Middle School cafeteria, located at 2425 16th Street. The cafeteria is most easily accessed through
the gate on 17th Street. Secured bike parking
will be provided. Participants are requested
to RSVP to shapethefuture2025@smgov.net
or call (310) 458-8341 or in order to ensure
an accurate refreshment and lunch count.
