October 7, 2025 -- Ocean Avenue and areas of Palisades Park will be transformed into a high-tech corridor on Monday as Santa Monica launches LA Tech Week 2025, City officials announced.
A day-long outdoor celebration, Tech St. Santa Monica returns for its second year with expanded offerings that showcase "innovation, entrepreneurship and community connection."
The event -- which takes place from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. -- "will unite startups, venture capital firms, corporations, creators and residents to showcase the region’s thriving innovation ecosystem," event organizers said.
"Whether you’re in the tech world or simply curious about the ideas and people shaping tomorrow, this event offers something for everyone," organizers said.
Among the venture capital firms featured are Pegasus Tech Ventures, Hustle Fund, Alumni Ventures and Los Angeles Venture Association, along with Startup World Cup, a networking platform for startups.
“As Santa Monica celebrates its 150th anniversary, we honor not only our city’s rich history but also its enduring role as a hub of innovation,” said Mayor Lana Negrete.
“From pioneering advances in sustainability to nurturing leaders who have reshaped technology and business, Santa Monica has always been a place where bold ideas take root.
"As we welcome the global technology community to our shores for Tech St. Santa Monica, we carry the legacy forward of building a future that embodies our city’s spirit of creativity, collaboration and forward-thinking innovation,” Negrete said.
Part of the region’s “Silicon Beach,” Santa Monica is home to the headquarters for leading innovators, including social media platform Snapchat, the city's largest employer.
Also headquartered in Santa Monica are online wellness app Headspace, health tech platform GoodRx, video game studio Activision Blizzard, and florist ecommerce platform Bloomnation.
Top venture capital firms, including Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), Clearstone Venture Partners and Upfront Ventures have chosen Santa Monica for their headquarters, "underscoring the city’s role as a launchpad for innovation," City officials said.
Santa Monica has served as an incubator that has helped turn ideas into operational cutting edge tech businesses, including Coco food delivery, Bird Scooters, Happy Returns, Hidonix robotics, TrueCar, Liquid Death and Dollar Shave Club.
Monday's tech fair -- which features exhibits, robotics demonstrations, performances, art installations, food trucks and a beer garden -- offers "groundbreaking startups" a chance to pitch their ideas.
The official Los Angeles Regional Startup World Cup Pitch Competition, in partnership with Pegasus Tech Ventures, offers the chance to "compete on a global stage and win investment from top venture capital firms," organizers said.
