November 24, 2025 -- Corsair Track & Field at Santa Monica College's (SMC) Main Campus is closed for major construction and repairs through mid-April, school officials announced Friday.

Construction at the facility, which is used by students as well as community members, will begin on December 1 and is funded by Measure AA, a bond approved by local voters in 2008.

"The construction and revamp efforts include resurfacing the track, regrading the field, and installing a new digital scoreboard," SMC officials said.

"Throughout the project, the track and field will be unavailable for internal/college athletic programs’ use and is also unavailable to the public," officials said.

"Details related to public use—including hours and guidelines—will be reviewed in Spring 2026 and appropriate notifications made prior to reopening."

Environmental Constructions, Inc. and dsk Architects are executing all aspects of the project.
