Pacific Park Rolls Out Red Carpet for Locals

By Lookout Staff

April 15, 2025 -- Local artists and guests will be in the spotlight once again Thursday when "Locals Night" returns to the Santa Monica Pier.

Presented by Pacific Park, the free community event -- which takes place between 3:30 and 10 p.m. -- features live music, youth performances, dancing, a car show and a curated Art Mart with more than 40 local vendors.

A portion of the evening’s proceeds will benefit Concrete Queenz, a nonprofit that brings skateboarding and educational opportunities to underserved girls in South LA, the amusement park's officials said.

“Locals’ Night is our love letter to the community -- a place to gather, celebrate local creativity, and enjoy the magic of the Pier together,” said Jim Harris, executive director and historian of the Pier.

“It’s a unique blend of music, art, and connection that reflects the spirit of Santa Monica.”

The event, which is held every third Thursday from September through May, "offers a lively, family-friendly atmosphere designed for locals, by locals."

The April 17 event features two live music stages, community activations and exciting performances from local favorites including the Tom Nolan Band, House of Vibe and Movie Club.

Guests also can enjoy Salsa Way, "an interactive salsa dancing experience open to all levels," and shop the Art Mart, which showcases the work of more than 40 local artisans, makers and small businesses offering everything from handmade goods to art and apparel.

"Whether you’re dancing to live music, shopping local artisans, or enjoying the stunning ocean views, this event is designed to bring Santa Monicans together in a fun and festive outdoor setting," Pacific Park officials said.

Pacific Park is LA’s only admission-free amusement park and offers 12 amusement rides, 14 midway games, Snackville with five fun food offerings and seaside retail shopping.

Concrete Queenz, which will benefit from a portion of the evening's proceeds, offers South LA girls free school-based skateboarding programming, trips to local skateparks and collaborations with other organizations for workshops on college, career and healthy living.
