Pacific Park Seeks to Fill More than 200 Positions

By Lookout Staff March 14, 2022 -- Area youngsters 16 and older can enjoy the summer at Santa Monica Beach, meet visitors from around the world and earn some money, all at the same time. Pacific Park® will hold a Job Fair on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. to help fill more than 200 positions at the world famous amusement park on the Pier. Job seekers can apply in person at the fair, which will take place in the Seaside Pavilion located at the west side of Pacific Park next to Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. For those attending school or holding a second job, part-time work is available on weekends and evenings from Memorial Day through Labor Day, Park officials said. No experience is needed since those hired will received paid training, but applicants must be able to work weekends and holidays. Those hired will "receive a competitive wage, free ride wristbands each month, discounts on Park food and merchandise, fun activities and parties," officials said. "It’s an opportunity to make new friends and lifelong memories." "If your background is a match for one of our open positions, your application will be forwarded on to our hiring team for review," Park officials said. "We will contact you soon if the hiring team expresses an interest." Those hired will help operate the Park’s 12 amusement park rides, 8 ocean-front dining outlets like Scoops Ice Cream Shop and Beach Burger, as well as midway games, retail shops and snack stands, officials said. Job perks include "free and discounted meals, free amusement park rides for employees and their family members, performance-based prizes such as free movie tickets and fun gifts, and a huge end-of-summer employee party." “Pacific Park is a fun and rewarding place to work, especially since employees are 40 feet over the ocean and enjoying the sights and sounds of the Southern California beach and coastline,” says Nathan Smithson, the park's director of Marketing and Business Development. “As one of Santa Monica’s largest youth employers, Pacific Park provides employees with a variety of work opportunities including training on the job and the chance to gain valuable skills in a many different areas.” Pacific Park on the Santa Monica Pier is LA’s only admission free amusement park, offering 12 amusement rides, 14 midway games, an oceanfront food plaza and seaside retail shopping.
