UPDATE: Santa Monica police reported Monday that Marina Godwin has been located. She is unharmed and doing well.
May 18, 2020 -- Santa Monica police are seeking the public's help in finding Marina Godwin, an 82-year-old suffering from dementia who has been missing since late Thursday night.
Godwin -- who has blue eyes, white hair and is 5 feet tall and 135 pounds -- was last seen in the 1100 block of Pico Boulevard at around 11 p.m.

She was wearing a yellow and white blouse, black jacket, black pants, blue tennis shoes, black baseball hat and sunglasses and carrying a blue bag.
Anyone with information about Godwin's whereabouts should contact the Santa Monica Police Department.

According to the Alzheimer's Association, six in ten people with dementia will wander."
Anyone who has memory problems and is able to walk is at risk for wandering," the Association's website says. |
"Even in the early stages of dementia, a person can become disoriented or confused for a period of time."
According to the Association, 5.8 million Americans aged 65 and older are living with Alzheimer's, the most common form of dementia.
The number is projected to rise to nearly 14 million by 2050.
