July 12, 2019 -- If you've been tightening your fiscal belt and want to taste what you've been missing, 39 Santa Monica eateries are offering big discounts during dineL.A. Restaurant Week.

The 15-day dining event that kicked off Friday offers discounted multi-course menus at some of Santa Monica's top dining destinations.

This year's list includes three restaurants recognized in the 2019 Michelin Guide -- Chinois on Main, The Lobster and Michael’s.

The dining extravaganza "showcases Los Angeles as a premier dining destination while highlighting the diversity of culinary experiences L.A. has to offer," organizers said.

Diners can choose from a wide array of cuisines -- from steaks and sushi to wild mahi mahi caponata and tagliatelle al ragu without cheese, milk or cream.

No tickets or passes are required, although advanced reservations are strongly recommended.

Diners should simply visit a participating restaurant and ask for the dineL.A. Restaurant Week lunch or dinner menu that guarantees a 20 percent minimum value.

• Lunch (2+ Courses): $15, $20, $25, $35
  
  
• Dinner (3+ Courses): $29, $39, $49, $59
  
  
• Dinner (5+ Courses): $99+ (tasting menu)

Some menus are subject to change if seasonal ingredients are not available.

Prices and meal periods vary by restaurant, and exclude beverages, tax and gratuity.

Diners should contact a restaurant directly before making a reservations to ensure the dineL.A. Restaurant Week menu is being served.
