December 20, 2019 -- A 23-year-old Los Angeles man has been sentenced to three years in prison for his role in a carjacking that took place in October in Sunset Park.
Noel Trambriz was one of three suspects arrested in the carjacking October 15 in the area of 17th Street and Bryn Mawr Avenue.
"One of the suspects used a handgun and pointed it at the victim," said Lt. Candice Cobarrubias, the Police Department spokesperson.

"The suspects also stole the victim’s wallet and cellular phone."
The following day Los Angeles School Police found the stolen vehicle with someone sleeping inside.
"A replica handgun was found inside the vehicle and the individual was arrested," Cobarrubias said.
Detectives traced the suspect's actions and placed him in the area at the time the carjacking took place, she said.
They were also able to obtain surveillance photos of the other two suspects.
Santa Monica Detectives worked with Los Angeles School Police to identify them, and they were taken into custody, Cobarrubias said.
The other two suspects were an adult and a juvenile.
Santos Yonathan Alvarado, an 18-year old male from Los Angeles, is still in custody and will return to court in February.
The minor was taken to Eastlake Juvenile Hall, Cobarrubias said.
