|Support Session for Santa Monica High School Students|

January 24, 2011 -- High school families are invited to a support session at Santa Monica High School Tuesday night.
A panel of therapists will address the Samohi community's psychological needs after the tragic suicide of Matthew Mezza across the street from the school two weeks ago.
The panel discussion “After a Crisis: Understanding and Supporting your Child” will include ample opportunity for familiy members to ask questions and connect with counseling services.
Panelists include Dr. Monica Salinas, MFT, who serves the Latino community, Joel McLafferty, LMFT, a therapist with Family Services of Santa Monica who works with youth and their families, Richard Lieberman, MA, NCSP, the coordinator of the Suicide Prevention Unit of the Los Angeles Uni?ed School District and Dr. Elaine Leader, co-founder and executive director of TEEN LINE, a confidential hotline for teenaged callers.
The discussion is sponsored by Santa Monica High School and the Samohi PTA. It will be held at 7p.m., Tuesday, January 25 in the Samohi Cafeteria.
