By Lookout Staff
August 3, 2011 – The son of Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O’Neal was arrested in Santa Monica Tuesday morning after police found drugs inside his vehicle during a traffic stop.
Redmond O'Neal, 26, was arrested at around 8:15 a.m. after he was pulled over by police in the 600 block of Olympic Boulevard for failing to stop for a red traffic signal while turning onto Olympic from northbound Lincoln Boulevard.
“During the traffic stop, the driver admitted to officers that he was on probation and a subsequent records check confirmed his probationary status,” said Sgt. Richard Lewis, the Police Department spokesman.
O'Neal consented to a search of his black 2010 Nissan Altima, where officers found heroin and marijuana.
O'Neal was arrested and transported to the Santa Monica Jail, where he was booked for felony possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana in a vehicle, illegally turning at a red light and violating his probation.
O’Neal was placed on probation for bringing drugs to an LA County jail two years ago. Last year, he completed a drug diversion program.
O’Neal is currently being held without bail at the Santa Monica Jail pending arraignment.
