Red Cross Event Promises Fine Dining and Entertainment | ||

April 9, 2010 --Limited tickets are still available for the American Red Cross of Santa Monica's annual "Red Tie Affair," which will take place at 5 p.m. on April 17 at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel. Locals will be recognized for their volunteerism and community service. Red Tie honorees include entertainer Jada Pinkett Smith, who will receive the American Red Cross Crystal Cross award. The Rick Crocker Spirit of Volunteerism Award will go to Barbara Browning, a 45-year nurse at Santa Monica/UCLA Medical Center and Orthopaedic Hospital. The gala will feature music and entertainment as well as live and silent auctions. |
Items that will go up for bid include jewelry, exotic vacations, limited edition wines, art, sports and Hollywood memorabilia and designer dresses. Celebrity chef, author and TV show host Nick Stellino will supervise the preparation of a three-course, gourmet dinner created especially for the event. Award-winning KTTV Fox 11 News anchor Christine Devine will serve as the Master of Ceremonies for the gala for the third year in a row.
