May 12, 2009 – Police are looking for a driver who ran over an elderly pedestrian Saturday afternoon at Saint John’s Medical Center and dragged the victim a short distance before fleeing the scene.
The 79-year-old victim, who was in the private driveway of the medical plaza at 2001 Santa Monica Boulevard, is listed in critical condition.
After running over the pedestrian the driver continued into the parking structure of Saint John’s Hospital and the medical buildings, police said.
The driver then left the scene without rendering aid or notifying the police.
The vehicle is described as a late model Infiniti or Lexus Sport Utility Vehicle, light gray or silver in color.
The driver was described as a male, white in his 60’s with salt and pepper hair and a goatee, police said.
