July 9, 2009 – Legendary folk singer Joan Baez will share the stage with special guest Tift Merritt at the free Twilight Dance Series Concert on the pier Thursday evening.
A music icon and celebrated advocate for peace and human rights throughout her 50-year career, Joan Baez remains vitally involved in the issues of our time.
From her first album on Vanguard Records in 1960, titled “Joan Baez” to her new “Day After Tomorrow” produced by Steve Earle, Baez has charted a course in music and social activism that parallels modern history. www.joanbaez.com
A writer, singer and sometime photographer fom North Carolina, Tift Merritt has released two acclaimed albums for Lost Highway Records and in 2008, “Another Country” for Fantasy Records.

The concerts run from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the pier parking lot (on the pier). All concerts are free. No alcohol is allowed. Dogs are allowed as long as they are on a leash.
Guests are more than welcomed to bring their own seating but seats will be available for rental.
