September 24 -- Two Los
Angeles suspects were arrested Friday
after crashing into two cars and a
motorcycle fleeing from Santa Monica
police.
The incident began shortly after noon when Sunset
park residents reported seeing an adult and a
juvenile, both Black, driving around the 1400
block of Ashland Avenue and engaging in suspicious
activity, police said.
“They were ringing doorbells and walking
back to their car,” said Lt. Alex Padilla.
The suspects fled on Ocean Park Boulevard, where
they crashed into two cars and a motorcycle at
Bundy Drive, Padilla said.
The suspects continued driving southbound on
Bundy, where they abandoned the vehicle at a gas
station at National Boulevard, he said.
The suspects fled on foot and police set up a
perimeter, Padilla said. Both suspects were arrested.
The two were charged with evading arrest and
felony hit and run, police said.
The motorcyclist sustained minor injuries and
was taken to a hospital as a “precautionary
measure,” Padilla said.
