August 7 -- In an
effort to keep British tourists
flocking to Santa Monica, the
Convention and Visitors Bureau
announced Monday that it has
hired ProTravel Marketing, Dublin
as its Sales and Marketing representative
in Ireland.
The firm will educate Irish
tour operators, consumers and
the travel industry on Santa
Monica’s attractions,
especially its outdoor activities,
museums, and dining and shopping
options, bureau officials said.
“Ireland is a strategic
market for the USA with strong
positive growth forecasted,
supported by an increase in
direct flights from Dublin to
Los Angeles International Airport
(LAX),” said Misti Kerns
the CVB’s president/CEO.
“We are delighted that
(ProTravel) has joined forces
with the bureau, and are excited
about the opportunity of inviting
more Irish travelers to experience
all of the wonderful things
Santa Monica has to offer.”
Pro Travel officials vowed
to expand awareness of Santa
Monica in Ireland.
“ProTravel Marketing is
dedicated to providing the highest
level of commitment and performance,”
said Ciaran Carraher owner of
ProTravel Marketing, who has
worked in the travel industry
for 27 years. “We guarantee
expanded growth and brand awareness
for Santa Monica in Ireland.”
Carraher is responsible for
the overall running of ProTravel
Marketing, as well as driving
sales and marketing initiatives,
specifically in sales and marketing,
CVB officials said.
“He has worked in the
most demanding sales and marketing
roles for some of the most recognized
leaders in the travel business,
both in the United States and
in Europe, with first hand experience
in California,” officials
said.
A native of Dublin, Carraher
has a comprehensive knowledge
of the Irish travel and tourism
industry with a dedication,
enthusiasm and understanding
of the latest worldwide travel
trends, Kerns said.
