Woman Shot in Sunset Park
By Lookout Staff
September 20 -- A woman was shot in the arm by a gunman who
drove up in a car as she walked in Sunset Park early Saturday morning,
police said.
The victim told police that she was walking in the 800 block of Pacific
Street at around 3:45 a.m. when the suspect’s vehicle pulled up beside
her and stopped.
The suspect attempted to talk to the victim and when she looked towards
him, she noticed that he was pointing a handgun at her, police said.
“The victim turned away and began to run, when she heard a loud pop and
realized she had been shot in the right arm,” said Lt. Frank Fabrega,
the police department spokesman.
The suspect is described as a white man in his late 20s or early 30s,
with rounded shoulders, a thin long neck, an oval head and prominent features,
including a large mouth, Fabrega said.
The suspect has light brown curly or wavy hair about 1 ½ to 2
inches long and is clean shaven, police said. He was wearing a light gray
t-shirt.
He spoke with a slight accent and is perhaps European, police said.
The man was driving what was described as a mid-1990s Toyota, possibly
a Camry sedan with power windows and minor dents and scratches on the
passenger side.
