Police Nab Bank Robber

June 4 – Police arrested a bank robber Wednesday shortly after he held up a Downtown bank and made off with an undetermined amount of cash.

The suspect -- identified as Robin Bradley Cook, a 38-year-old Venice resident -- is currently on federal probation for a bank robbery he committed in Santa Monica in 1997, police said.

The armed robbery took place at 9:17 a.m. at the Citibank at 501 Santa Monica Boulevard, police said.

The suspect was spotted in the 1300 block of Lincoln Boulevard by responding officers, who nabbed him when he attempted to flee.

A field show up was conducted and the suspect was positively identified.

Police recovered an undetermined amount of cash on the suspect, who was booked at the Santa Monica Jail and charged with bank robbery. His bail is set at $100,000.
