Man Robs Bank, Flees

Jan. 5 -- A bank robber made off with an undetermined amount of cash Monday morning after producing a demand note at CitiBank Downtown, police said.

The man, who fled on foot, entered the bank on the 500 block of Santa Monica Boulevard shortly after 11 a.m., police said.

"He produced a demand note and robbed the bank," said Lt. Frank Fabrega, the police department spokesman.

The suspect was described as a Latino in his late 30s with salt and pepper hair, a moustache with gray hair and stubbles on his face, Fabrega said.

The suspect, who had a large nose, was wearing a white baseball cap, and was "possibly transient in appearance," he said.

No getaway vehicle was heard or seen, Fabrega said.
