Body Found Near Freeway

Nov. 16 -- The body of a transient was found Sunday morning on the embankment of the Santa Monica Freeway, police said.

Police found the body -- described as that of a white man in his early 60s -- at 8:52 a.m. on the 900 block of the westbound freeway, police said.

An autopsy will be conducted by the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office to determine the cause of death. The deceased has not been identified.
