Pedestrian Struck by Car on Lincoln

A 38-year-old man was in guarded condition Friday after he sustained
major injuries when he was struck by a car Thursday night as he stepped
into the street while walking down Lincoln Boulevard, police said.
The unidentified man was taken to Santa Monica/UCLA Hospital with broken
bones and unspecified internal injuries following the accident that occurred
at approximately 9:27 p.m., according to police spokesman Lt. P.J. Guido.
The man, described only as white, stepped into the roadway from the middle
of the 1800 block of Lincoln Boulevard and was struck by a BMW traveling
north. The driver, a Venice resident, was interviewed by police at the
scene and released.
Police roped off the area surrounding the accident for more than an hour
as they investigated the scene and interviewed witnesses. The investigation
is ongoing to determine the exact cause of the accident. |
