Correction

The article, "Exclusive Beach Club Fires Housekeepers and Dishwashers," that appeared in the Tuesday, March 21 edition of The Lookout, incorrectly stated that the workers at the Jonathan Club were engaged in a unionizing effort. It also incorrectly identified two of the organizers as working for the local Hotel Employees and Restaurant Employees union.

Some of the terminated workers had openly supported a proposed living wage, but they were not attempting to organize a union. The three organizers identified in the article work for Santa Monicans Allied for Responsible Tourism (SMART), which crafted the proposal being studied by the City Council. The article has been changed to reflect these corrections. The Lookout regrets the error.
