New Tower Saint John's Imaging Offers Outpatient Convenience in High-tech Setting

With the recent grand opening of Tower Saint John’s Imaging, Santa Monica and Greater Los Angeles physicians and patients now have the option of choosing from a full range of diagnostic and interventional radiology services at a convenient, outpatient-only facility located just one block from Saint John’s Health Center.

The two-story, 13,000-square-foot imaging center, situated at the corner of Wilshire Blvd. and 22nd St., is a joint venture between Tower Imaging Medical Group and Saint John’s Health Center. Tower Saint John’s Imaging features the latest technological innovations in both imaging equipment and information technology, with seasoned technical and clerical staff and expert radiologists – all within a beautifully designed, luxurious setting.

“The response from the Saint John’s community has been fantastic,” says Bruce Yawitz, M.D., medical director of Tower Saint John’s Imaging. “Once people walk through the front door, they’re treated with boutique-level service, and that has been reflected in the feedback we’ve received from both physicians and patients.”

Saint John’s continues to provide all its current in-patient services and interventional procedures within the Radiology Department, with the exception of PET. As of December 2004, Saint John’s has discontinued their PET services and all patients are now being referred to Tower Saint John’s Imaging for PET/CT services.

In addition, Saint John’s and Tower Saint John’s Imaging have implemented a wireless network between the two locations so that physicians and radiologists can immediately view images of any exam performed at either site. Radiologists are also available at both locations for in-person and telephone consultations, and Tower Imaging radiologists will continue to provide diagnostic and interventional imaging services at Saint John’s.

• GE Discovery PET/CT multichannel fusion scanner
• MRI
• GE 1.5 Tesla, Twin Speed Excite, High-Field MRI, and
• 0.7 Tesla Hitachi Altaire Open MRI
• All Digital Radiography and Fluoroscopy
• Pain Management
• Ultrasound
• Full Body CT Studies, including Virtual Colonoscopy (CT Colonography)

As before, all mammograms will continue to be performed at the Joyce Eisenberg Keefer Breast Center at Saint John’s.
