Highly Paid Critics and Showing Priorties

Dear Editor,

Am I the only one who noticed that the only letters criticizing your articles about how Santa Monica overspends in comparison to other local cities -- and indeed, the only support for that same overspending -- comes from highly paid city employees who are the direct beneficiaries of this overspending?

Dear Editor,

I would like to thank the City Council for doing the right thing. (“Council Boosts District Funding,” June 19) I don't agree with many of the ways our City money is being spent, which is why I read your article with great interest.

I've also made my notes as for which council members I'll be willing to vote for next time. My vote goes for Herb Katz and Ken Genser (thank you for showing your priorities) and Pam O'Connor has lost my vote. I cannot in good conscience support her.
