Dear Editor,

Thank you for covering the situation at Marine Park Child Development Center. Since December 1, when the parents learned that the Board of Education might abandon the Marine Park program, the Marine Park parents have been trying to raise public awareness of the precarious nature of child care in this City.

Numerous letters to Our Times have gone unheeded and even direct contact with Our Times reporters do not yield any results. A possible reduction is music programs apparently is more newsworthy that the certain dismantling of Marine Park. While I support the efforts to save music in Santa Monica schools, I also think that the fact that one of the few infant and toddler center-based day care programs in the City is being threatened is very significant. Thanks for staying on top of it.
