December 7, 20018 -- Santa Claus and his police and firefighter helpers are back this year to spread holiday cheer during Santa Monica's annual "Candy Cane Drive” on Saturday.
The jolly big man and his helpers will make five stops during their rounds of the beach city "distributing good cheer and thousands of Candy Canes.
This marks Santa Monica's 26th Annual annual Candy Cane drive sponsored by the City's Public Safety departments.
Santa will make stops at the follwoing parks on Saturday:
* 10:00-10:30 a.m. Virginia Avenue Park - 2200 Virginia Avenue
* 10:45-11:15 a.m. Douglas Park - 2400 California Avenue
* 11:30-12:00 p.m. Christine Reed Park - California Avenue & 7th Street
* 12:15 - 12:45 p.m. Marine Park - Marine Street & 17Th Street
* 1:00 - 1:30 p.m. Clover Park - Ocean Park Blvd & 25th Street
"Santa Monica children are encouraged to look and listen for the lights and sirens of the public safety vehicles,' police said.
"Parents are encouraged to bring their cameras."
