March 9, 2010 – A place of worship, a zone to get some secular thrills and a joint to grab a cup of Joe are among the finalists for the City’s Sustainable Quality Awards.

For fifteen years, the awards -- sponsored by the City and the Chamber of Commerce --have honored local organizations and businesses that make extraordinary contributions to Santa Monica. The awards celebrate business achievement in economic development, social responsibility, and stewardship of the natural environment.

"The Sustainable Quality Awards are a wonderful event where we honor versatile, dynamic, responsive and profitable businesses that are the driving force for Santa Monica's Sustainable City goals," said Laurel Rosen, the chamber’s president and CEO.

Judging will take place next month and winners will be honored at the Chamber of Commerce Awards Luncheon on May 5 at the Sheraton Delfina Hotel.
